Sam Krug

Sam Krug came on board with Preferred Popcorn in 2015 during the acquisition of our new organic facility and at a time of rapid company growth. He serves as our lead agronomist for organic popcorn, working closely with our growers to ensure we have the best popcorn available anywhere. He's also developed his own small farming operation where he grows popcorn and tests new hybrids for the company. Sam often jokes that he started learning how to grow popcorn when he was still in diapers, riding for hours in his father's combine during harvest. When he's not talking with organic farmers or ensuring plant operations are functioning smoothly, Sam enjoys spending time with his wife and new baby boy, wandering around looking for deer and turkeys, cheering on the Huskers, and studying the Bible. Sam also has a Masters degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.
